We are delighted to announce that Bascule Disability Training is now an official member of Social Enterprise UK – the leading global authority and largest network of social enterprises in the UK.

Members of the network include private businesses, charities and public sector organisations who support a shared vision of a world where social enterprise is the ‘usual way of doing business’.

There are over 100,000 members in Social Enterprise UK, making it the largest social enterprise network in the country.

As a Social Enterprise, Bascule Disability Training invests 75% of its profits into providing disability awareness training programmes for pupils in state schools, free of charge, to promote inclusion, understanding and empathy amongst children and young people.

Chris Jay, Managing Director of Bascule Disability Training said, “Social enterprises are an increasingly important part of the UK economy contributing £60 billion and employing 2 million people. We are delighted to have joined this growing membership body as an already established social enterprise and look forward to networking and learning from other social enterprise members.”

Research carried out by Social Enterprise UK shows that social enterprises are outperforming traditional businesses when it comes to start-up rates, turnover growth and innovation. They are also leading the way in terms of workforce diversity and pay.
